We’re bringing together a small group to talk about how we can help effect change in an image-driven society, by creating and sharing powerful images that tell a critical story. Using digital tools and online community facilities, we have the opportunity to re-invent how media is used as part of the national and global debate. The round table format encourages lively discussion and free exchange of ideas in a friendly atmosphere.
We believe that we can create a web-based exchange that will significantly increase the visibility of both the problems (the global crisis) and the solutions (alternative energy and conservation). The idea is to directly connect videographers, photographers, animators and visualizers who care deeply about the issues and are willing to contribute and be part of the solution, with editors and producers who are creating documentaries and news programs on those issues, and need content and visual materials. Through this open market, we will build a library of compelling media that will shift the public dialogue and make the case for positive (and green) solutions.
