GREAT WEB IDEA

Posted by Darrin Malone on August 26, 2008 at 1:09 am

Hey guys. My name is Darrin and I am an actor/techie/internet prowler. As far as the web goes, I am a big web 2.0 user. I frequent sites such as twitter.com,pownce.com,digg.com,revision3.com and read a lot of various blogs.

Here goes the question...

I have a great idea for a web business. In my mind (im sure a lot of people feel this way about their new ideas) it's a definite goldmine. I don't have previous experience in web design though I think im tech savvy enough to learn on the go. Problem is this idea is kind of a very big one and I would probably want to get a couple of major web players in it to help me.

How do I protect my idea? How do I get started? Are there firms out there that will sitdown with me and talk this through? Please share your thoughts. Thank you very much for your time:-)

Darrin, The best way to protect your idea is not to tell anyone. That should be easy if you write about it here since neither my message or yours appears to have been read by anyone else ;-) I run a software devlopment business which took on the model of social capitalism which was delivered to the US democrats in a 1996 white paper. That is free to use by anyone because there is no copyright but our business plans need protection, particularly where we work in Eastern Europe because of the high probability of theft. Any business which wants to protect its interest will require potential partners to sign a non-disclosure agreement from the outset. Regards, Jeff
