Did Danny Have to Go?
| posted by Fast Company staffThe old "You're Fired" routine hit guitar-playing, college-educated Danny last night. The poor boy seemed awfully surprised by Trump's decision, even though you knew Dan was done for in the very first episode--not nearly macho enough for the Trump crowd.
But what's your theory on Michael who was exempt from being tossed but pretty much set himself up to get the boot the next time the college team loses? Once his ideas weren't greeted with total enthusiasm, Michael just gave up, behaving like a lout. Seems more suited to manage a small construction crew in the burbs than anything else.

AlanOf course there wasn't a choice here. Although Danny was an interesting person, he truly lacked any amount of creativity or management skills. Michael is a pathetic waste of time and will be fired on the next episode...
This season of The Apprentice is a depressing look into poor screening. At least in previous seasons there were true professionals who had training and potential to exist in the corporate world. These groups of circus performers, regardless of background, have become nothing more than a Thursday night comedy. Lets hope that the producers of this show realize this is not the show for worthless situational comedy; but truly a chance to show the appealing and competitive nature of the business world.

karenI loved the other shows but found that this season I will not learn anything new about business. New York is an interesting place to be and visit. The first season we saw a little about New York, and the prize for winning was nicer for the teams. Maybe some of the problems for the show is the editing.

melanieI think that Michael was a absolutely useless in the last task and only marginal as a PM. I would be surprised if Michael is around much longer.
I think some of the people picked for this season leave something to be desired. As far as I am concerned, no other group of people will ever match up to the group from Season 1. Even when they fought, they were always presented as smart business people and more importantly, they came across that way to the viewer.

Michael is an ass. His time is limited.
This season of The Apprentice is disappointing at best.

SteveMichael obviously doesn't understand the get a early victory and then float under the radar theory.
I disagree with the opinion that Danny wasn't macho enough for the Trump group though. Danny wanted to stand out and be different - which he did. But when push comes to shove you can't ride the wave of "I'm creative, I'm creative, Look how creative I am.." and then come up with a big goose egg not once - but twice!
Danny was a good cheerleader, might be a good HR guy or a self-esteem coach --- but an Apprentice, come on he's not even close. He was like the folks that go on American Idol and then can't sing.
All the being said his "square peg in a round peg world" was good enough to get him on the show. But did anybody really think he was going to make it.
As for the whole macho thing - if it was just testosterone and macho that mattered the fellow from two weeks back in the hotel challenge would still be around. He wasn't bright but he certainly was working the macho angle hard.
