* Gadgets of the Year

Today, David Pogue of the New York Times wrote about his top ten gadgets of the year (free registration required). There are a few obvious choices, such as television a la carte, but his selections are mostly overlooked advances. They are largely design elements that improve the usability and customer experience of the hi-tech toys you use every day.

Here at Fast Company, we have a slideshow of some of the great gadgets that have appeared in our magazine this year, and another slideshow of what we consider the cool tech to get as presents (you have to spend all those gift cards on something).

What tech innovation wowed you in 2005? What is the gadget of the year?

what ever creates silence: the TV zapper, the "quiet" headphones for inflight, the white-noise filter. Give me something that turns "it" off and I'll buy it.

Gadgets of the year are not doubt computer,and mobile I believe.And now the market of Laptop is picking up,and with falling prices,laptop will be the favourite choice of all.I am not commenting on the European and Amreican Market.The vast market lies in Asia and Pacific and China and other ares which are developing.Dependance on computer will go up and no one will depend only on home PC alone.With fast growth,and to stay in market they have to be mobile and herecomes the scope of market of laptop.The price is alsready slowing an acceptable trend and it will be the gadget of the year soon.
