Fox Helps You Help It...

| posted by Fast Company staff

To save its award-winning Arrested Development TV series, as reported in The New York Times. It's a strange turning of the tables--normally it's in our hands to try and save our favorite TV shows from getting the ax by petitioning to the networks. So I'm pleased that Fox has put this together, and it sends out a message that they're open to what the public wants, if enough of them respond to the call.

However, I noticed on the site that no where does it say how many names are needed to result in the show's saving, and volunteering my email, not to mention a friend's, kinda makes me suspect. What if this is all a marketing vehicle dressed up in the sheep's clothing of a grassroots campaign? If this were something done by a fan, I probably wouldn't hesitate. Does the fact that Fox is spearheading this make you think twice about signing on? Or is it a plus that it's a direct line to the company to be heard?

I also think that this looks a bit suspicious. Furthermore, I really do not like the show. I watched it a couple of times and it just really did not grab my attention. I think that it would be more appropriate of the Fox to ask the fans what they (the writers) should do to make it more interesting and fun to watch.

I guess the fact that the show is not so good anymore would be the result of it being sacked.

Oto, if Arrested Development didn't grab your attention or you think it needs to be "more interesting and fun to watch." you obviously are the victim of a lobotomy and they've removed the humor part of your brain. Try Adderol, it's good for ADD if you have such a hard time paying attention.

Or maybe you should stick to Fred Bassett comic strips.

I absolutely love the show. It is sick and wrong and wonderful on so many levles.

On the Fox issue, I was watching last night (love my TivO!) and since this Sunday was the season finale and they showed clips from shows next season, I am going to say that this is some sort or ploy by Fox. I can't swear to it, but I thought I had already read somewhere that the show was being renewed.
