New Year's Revolutions

| posted by Heath Row

As 2003 comes to a close, I'm starting to think about New Year's resolutions and what I'd like to improve in my work and life next year. FC Now reader Jim Murray emailed this noon, asking, "What can we do in the coming year that will have the most helpful impact?"

What do you plan to change in your work and life for 2004? How can your business improve the work and life of your colleagues, partners, customers, friends, and family?

What a great question? I have determined that my primary focus in 2004 (actually through 2006) will be to evangelize the Information Technology community with the message, "It's not the user!" It's time we wake up and learn that there is a tremendous burden on our shoulders - the IT professional that is - to communicate effectively and accurately. Then, maybe, we can reinvent the image of IT and show the value we add to our organizations. That's my mission.
